Oztrain Kiln: construction 1

SideStoke home  |  Oztrain home

The position of the new kiln in an existing shed was determined by the location of rafters. The chimney was the same size as that of the dismantled salt kiln so it was possible to use the light angle iron frame used on the old chimney to guide the construction of the new chimney. Here the frame  is in position on a wooden box, and a hole has been cut in the existing roof to accommodate the new chimney.
