A plan for this kiln can be found in the book Japanese Woodfired Ceramics  by Masakazu Kusakabe and Mark Lancet. The new kiln is located on Cher´s sister's property south of Perth.
The chimney height is 6 metres. The kiln is said to be smokeless if a sufficiently high chimney is built.
Protruding bricks on the arch of the kiln are meant to collect ash to encourage dripping of ash glaze onto the pots.  The curve of the arch is not obvious from the outside of the kiln because brick infill is used to bring the exterior of the kiln up to a horizontal level.
